Communities

Hands together to show a working community.

About

Ailsa Campbell is a strategic partner with a proven track record of delivering creative solutions to get things done in community-led development.

She brings 15 years of hands-on leadership and project delivery, helping communities and their organisations turn ideas and plans into action.

Approach & Values

Ailsa has a collaborative and practical approach, working with communities, local and national government, funders, professional advisers and commercial partners.

As a long-standing community volunteer herself, she understands the challenges community groups face, the responsibility carried by trustees, and the passion, time and commitment that local people bring.

Drawing on her own experience, Ailsa supports and leads community volunteers, helping organisations gain confidence, clarity and momentum as they pursue their goals. Her work is rooted in a commitment to uniting people, building social capital and creating stronger, more resilient communities.

Ailsa also partners with a trusted network of consultants specialising in community legislation, property law and public relations, bringing them into projects as needed to provide tailored expertise.

Background

Ailsa has deep expertise in community-led development, the regeneration of local assets, social enterprise and the building of social capital.

As Co-Founder and Chair of Crieff Community Trust since 2013, she has led a wide range of initiatives, including community action planning, a Community Right to Buy application, town centre regeneration projects, establishing a co-working space social enterprise and work to strengthen the organisation’s board for long-term sustainability.

She also helped establish a Town Team that brings together local organisations around a shared strategy for Crieff’s future and its capital projects.

Alongside her community leadership, Ailsa is a professional communication designer with 30 years of experience. She recently completed an Executive MBA at the University of Strathclyde Business School, where she was awarded the Dean’s Prize for her dissertation on creating and building social capital in communities.
