Summary

In 2015, Ailsa led a small steering group to create a self-financing coworking space in Crieff to support local business activity and revitalise the town centre. The aim was to provide flexible workspace for local entrepreneurs while generating reliable, unrestricted income for Crieff Community Trust and its landlord, Strathearn Arts, another community-led organisation.

Can Do Crieff opened in February 2019. To boost membership and raise awareness, Ailsa designed and delivered a marketing and community engagement strategy, including:

– A “Biz Chat” series with local entrepreneurs (in person, online and podcast format)

– A Business Club to support post-Covid recovery for startups and small businesses

– Town-wide promotional banners

– Branding and design for all initiatives

DIFFERENCE MADE  

The project successfully helped to activate an underused town centre building, drew new footfall into Crieff, and supported dozens of local micro-businesses. Can Do Crieff continues to be a hub for entrepreneurship and community-led economic development, modelling a sustainable approach to rural coworking and social enterprise.
